Waterfront mansion and boutique stay: what's worth the price.
A "yalı" is a wooden Ottoman mansion on the Bosphorus. They are extraordinarily expensive — the truly historic ones are €10k+ per night, and most "Bosphorus-view" hotels are simply across the street, not on the water. This calculator helps you decide whether a yalı-adjacent boutique hotel is worth the markup over a regular European-side 4-star.
